School bus fares set to go up due to increasing operating costs
School bus fares are set to go up.
This comes as operators face increasing operating costs.
MediaCorp understands fares are going up by 10 to 20 per cent.
That's between 10 and 40 dollars, depending on the distance.
Currently, parents pay between 70 and 175 dollars a month.
Operators say fares for students taking smaller school buses may have steeper increases due to a requirement that all small buses had to be equipped with seat belts by last year.
