Scholar who posted explicit video online tells media NUS hearing will be on Oct 31

The National University of Singapore will summon ASEAN scholar Alvin Tan to a disciplinary hearing at the end of the month.

Mr Tan, who is from Malaysia, reportedly told this to the media.

NUS had earlier served a notice of a Board of Discipline inquiry to Mr Tan for posting sexually explicit videos and photos of himself and his girlfriend on their blog.

While the blog has been deactivated, Mr Tan and his girlfriend released a new video on YouTube yesterday, maintaining their stance.

Meanwhile, Malaysian authorities are still deciding on whether or not to take action against Mr Tan.

News of his blog has now been making rounds in Malaysia.
