SINGAPORE: Over 10,000 NSmen and their families checked out the brand new SAFRA Toa Payoh when it re—opened on Saturday with a two—day Open House.
Positioned as an edutainment hub, the four—storey SAFRA Toa Payoh is three times its former size.
It offers a host of F&B and entertainment facilities and services to NSmen living in central Singapore.
It is the largest club in SAFRA’s current network of five clubs.
SAFRA Toa Payoh, which was the first permanent club built in 1975 for NSmen, was closed for redevelopment in 2010.
Visitors to the reopened club on Saturday were treated to pool activities, stage performances, parenting talks and art and craft workshops for children.
Prizes worth S$5,000 were given away through various activities and contests.
Visitors were encouraged to capture their candid moments while exploring the new club and submit their favourite photograph to the Snap(ography) Photo Contest.
A Singapore record was set at the inaugural Baby Crawling Contest organised by Gymnademics, an enrichment centre in SAFRA Toa Payoh.
It was set by 13—month—old Stanley Sim, who was crowned Singapore’s Fastest Crawling Baby.
He took eight seconds to complete 2.4 metres.
