SINGAPORE: Singapore will host its first—ever Formula Drift Canon Nations Cup at the Changi Exhibition Centre this weekend.

The event will see drivers from six countries including Singapore, the US, Indonesia and Japan competing for honours.

Drivers from the same country will be paired together for two tandem runs.

Points will be awarded for teamwork and coordination.

Local duo Ivan Lim and Jansen Tan will be leading the Republic’s biggest contingent comprising of nine drifters.

American drift star Ken Gushi is relishing the chance to challenge for the top spot here.

"For the last round, Orido and Daigo had won the Canon Nations Cup so we are going to come up with something different, something for the crowd to see. Hopefully it’s going to be exciting for them. We just can’t let them win anymore, so we are going to try take the spot away from them," he said.
