SINGAPORE: Singapore and Sarawak have welcomed the growing ties between them. This follows the visit by Senior Minister of State for Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs Masagos Zulkifli to the Malaysian state.

While in Kuching, Mr Masagos called on the Yang di—Pertua Negeri of Sarawak, Muhammad Salahuddin Abang Barieng, and the Speaker of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly, Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar.

A statement from Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the three men also reflected on the shared history and strong people—to—people linkages between Singapore and Sarawak.

Mr Masagos also met the ministers of several ministries, including Green Technology and Water, Foreign Affairs, Industrial Development, Public Utilities, Resource Planning and Environment, Housing, and Youth Development.

They discussed bilateral ties and encouraged deeper engagement among officials from Singapore and Sarawak.

Mr Masagos will visit Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei Darussalam from Tuesday till Friday.
