SINGAPORE: Singapore hosted the 11th Plenary Meeting and Exhibition of the Asian Network of Major Cities 21 (ANMC21) on Saturday at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre.

Two cities — Russia’s Tomsk and Mongolia’s Ulaanbaatar City — have joined the international network of Asian capitals and major cities.

The Singapore Declaration was also signed at the meeting.

Member cities reaffirmed their commitment to share knowledge, experience and technology on infrastructure, environmental, energy and social measures.

Speaking at the event, Minister of State for National Development Tan Chuan—Jin said Asian cities have much to offer in terms of how they have tackled their unique urban challenges.

Other member cities of the network such as Hanoi, Jakarta, Manila, Seoul, Taipei and Tokyo, will showcase their own local urban planning and tourism initiatives at the World Cities Summit Expo which opens on Monday.
