SINGAPORE: Singapore has expressed grave concern over North Korea’s nuclear test on Tuesday.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said this was a clear breach of the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and an outrageous act of defiance against the entire international community.
Singapore added that such a move does not enhance North Korea’s own security and threatens to destabilise the entire region, to the detriment of all, including North Korea itself.
Singapore has also called upon North Korea to desist from further provocative actions.
Singapore hopes North Korea will change course and integrate itself into the region, so that it can share the region’s peace and prosperity.
Singapore will make its views known to North Korea through its ambassador here.
