S’pore—Thai civil service exchange to take place on Thursday

SINGAPORE: Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister, Surapong Tovichakchaikul will lead a team of 53 Thai officials for the 11th Coordinating Meeting of the Thailand—Singapore Civil Service Exchange Programme on Thursday.

Singapore’s Foreign Ministry said Mr Surapong will also be making his introductory visit to Singapore from Wednesday.

The two—nation civil service exchange programme is an important platform for officials from both countries to exchange ideas and best practices, as well as explore new areas of collaboration.

It has 13 cooperation clusters, spanning over 30 agencies from Singapore and Thailand.

The theme of this year’s meeting is "Good Governance in an Increasingly Complex World", and both Mr Surapong and Singapore’s Foreign Affairs Minister, K Shanmugam will co—officiate the opening ceremony on Thursday morning.
