RP's Kenneth Jeyaretnam happy with progress of campaign as it passes halfway mark

The Reform Party's candidate for Punggol East, Mr Kenneth Jeyaretnam, says he's happy with the progress of his by-election campaign - in terms of feedback and reach.

As the campaign passes the halfway mark, Mr Jeyaretnam told reporters after his house visits this morning - that he's satisfied with the party's first rally yesterday.

He said he has received a lot of positive feedback.

On the ground, he has distributed leaflets to all the flats and has covered 25 blocks during his house-to-house visits.

"We are quite happy with how things are going at the moment. The press has tried to categorised this as a two-horse race but you should watch out for the thoroughbred that comes out from the inside."

The Reform Party is expected to hold its second and final rally - either on Wednesday or Thursday.

Mr Jeyaretnam said he'll focus on plans for the constituency in his speeches.
