SINGAPORE: Singapore and Brunei on Thursday reaffirmed the close professional cooperation between the two air forces, and reiterated their mutual commitment to continue to strengthen defence ties.
This comes following bilateral meetings of the Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) Colonel (COL) (U) Haji Wardi Bin Haji Abdul Latip with Singapore Defence Minister Dr Ng Eng Hen at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) on Thursday morning.
As part of his introductory visit from May 16 to May 18, COL (U) Haji Wardi also called on Chief of Defence Force Major-General Ng Chee Meng and Chief of Air Force Brigadier-General Hoo Cher Mou earlier Thursday.
COL (U) Haji Wardi will visit Seletar Airport and the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Air Force Training Command later Thursday afternoon, as well as the RSAF's Participation Command tomorrow.
MINDEF said COL (U) Haji Wardi's visit underscores the strong and long-standing defence relationship between Singapore and Brunei.
RSAF and the RBAirF interact regularly through professional exchanges and the bilateral exercise, Exercise Air Guard.
MINDEF said these interactions have strengthened the mutual understanding and friendship between the two air forces.
