SINGAPORE: The annual Deepavali Festival Village is back, and to facilitate the traffic arrangements for the 6.5-week long event, certain roads in the Little India area will be closed, announced the police on Friday (Sep 5).
The bazaar will be held from Saturday (Sep 6) to Oct 22. From Saturday at 10am till Oct 22 11pm, Hastings Road, Campbell Lane, and the extreme right lane of Serangoon Road will be closed, said the police.
Details of the arrangements:
Access to the roads and lane during their closure will only be granted to police and emergency vehicles, the police said, adding that parking restrictions will be strictly enforced and vehicles found parking indiscriminately and causing obstruction will be towed away.
The Deepavali Festival Village will feature stalls in Little India selling crafts, decorations and snacks. For further enquires, members of public may contact the organiser, the Little India Shopkeepers & Heritage Association, at 6392 2246. - CNA/xk
