Recent Budget debate shows better & sharper focus on women's issues, says Grace Fu, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office

Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, Grace Fu, says the recent Budget debate in Parliament has seen a better and sharper focus on women's issues.

She said there's been greater recognition that men and women have a shared and more equal parental role.

Ms Fu was speaking to the media at the PAP Women's Wing's first Women's Conference today.

The event was attended by some 260 branch activists.

One of the main themes that emerged from today's conference was the issue of work-life balance.

Ambassador-at-Large Chan Heng Chee also called for more childcare centres to be built within workplaces.

It's an idea the PAP Women's Wing is prepared to push for.

Ambassador Chan also called on women to speak out more on issues, from a woman's perspective.
