Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong urges East Asian economies to work together - to foster growth and maintain peace and stability in the region.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has urged East Asian economies to work together - to foster growth and maintain peace and stability in the region.

He was making the call at the East Asia Summit, held as part of the ASEAN Summit in Brunei.

Mr Lee said one way to do so is to strengthen economic relations.

He said countries should also strive to maintain peace and stability in Asia Pacific, and specifically in Asia.

For the long term, Mr Lee said the most important determinant of regional stability is relations between the major powers, 
and stable adjustments to the dynamic changes taking place in the global economy.
