President Tony Tan urges Singapore's SEA Games athletes to do their best in Myanmar
Singapore's President Tony Tan Keng Yam is confident that Singapore's SEA Games athletes will do their best and make the nation proud.
In a post on his Facebook page, President Tan noted that this week, the athletes will start making their way to Myanmar for the 27th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
He also noted that more than 300 Team Singapore athletes, to be led by Chef-de-Mission, Ms Annabel Pennefather, will be participating in 25 sports in this year's games, and they have trained hard.
Dr Tan also sent his good wishes to the contingent of 19 Team Singapore athletes who are currently participating in the inaugural Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games in Australia, and are representing the country in five sports.
His message to both contingents - "Go Team Singapore!"
