SINGAPORE: A policeman was found dead with a gunshot wound to his head at the Police Cantonment Complex (PCC) on Wednesday morning.

Police said 38—year—old Senior Station Inspector Leong Shee Chun joined the Singapore Police Force in 1991 and has been an Investigation Officer with the Criminal Investigations Department for the past 14 years.

Leong was not on duty at the time of the incident.

At about 4.41am on Wednesday, police received a call from Leong’s family requesting for assistance, saying he was emotionally distressed.

Police officers immediately commenced a search of the location given.

At about 5am, Leong was found in his office.

There was a gunshot wound to his head and the service revolver was found beside him.

A single discharged round was found in the revolver’s chamber, while the other four rounds remained intact (in the chamber).

The officer was pronounced dead by paramedics at 5.20am.

Police said no foul play is suspected and are investigating the unnatural death.
