SINGAPORE: Singapore police say they are monitoring the situation in countries where protests have broken out over the film "Innocence of Muslims", which denigrates Islam.

A statement from the police said officers on the ground remain vigilant and will respond swiftly to any incidents.

Singapore has condemned the film.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Friday that the video is highly offensive to Muslims and that Singapore deplores the actions of the film—makers.

The video has sparked violence overseas resulting in the deaths of United States Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and other diplomatic staff.
