SINGAPORE: Police arrested within 48 hours five men, including three who posed as police officers, who robbed businessmen of more than S$1 million.

Donning police uniforms, the three suspects approached foreign Indian businessmen involved in trading electronic goods.

They tied up the victims and robbed them of more than S$1 million before making their getaway in a car, driven by two accomplices.

Police said two of the suspects are foreign workers, while the other three are Singaporeans.

The robbery occurred on 10 September at a shophouse in Little India, along Dunlop Street.

Police have recovered S$842,200.

Deputy commander of Central Police Division, Superintendent Tan Kuan Wei said: "We take this opportunity to remind members of the public to be vigilant and if in doubt, please ask to see the warrant card of the police to ascertain that they are indeed police officers."
