SINGAPORE: A man who posed as a police officer was charged on Monday with cheating a man of S$10,000.

29—year—old Tang Bo Xiang allegedly duped 56—year—old Woo Hong Liang into believing he was a police officer and a trainer with the Police Academy.

The incident is believed to have taken place on or before 6 August, at the United Overseas Bank at People’s Park Complex.

The court heard that Tang told Woo that he needed the money as repayment for breaking a bond with the police force.

For cheating and dishonestly inducing the delivery of property, Tang can be jailed 10 years and fined.
