Police, CPIB officers to assist in global match—fixing probe

SINGAPORE: A team of four senior officers from the Singapore Police Force and Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau will go to Interpol headquarters in Lyon, France within the next two weeks to assist a global taskforce in match—fixing investigations.

It will work with Interpol to engage member countries affected by match—fixing.

It aims to collect available information from these countries and get them to help in accessing evidence, witnesses and suspects whom they believe to be involved in the alleged match—fixing cases.

The team will also be exploring ways to help and share available information.

Singapore hopes to work with the Interpol Global Anti—Match—fixing Taskforce and the global community to gather and share information and evidence to build a concrete case against individuals and syndicates.
