Police arrest two men suspected of involvement in loanshark harassment cases
Police have arrested two men for their suspected involvement in cases of loanshark harassment in the Teban Gardens, Chua Chu Kang, Bukit Panjang and Yishun areas.
Two days ago, at about 4.30 pm, officers from the Tanglin Police Division were on foot-patrol at Kent Road when they spotted the men behaving suspiciously.
The officers found that the men were carrying cans of enamel paint and a permanent black marker.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the two men are involved in cases of loanshark harassment at several locations.
They will be charged in Court today under the Moneylenders Act.
First time offenders found guilty of damaging property by splashing paint face a fine of between $5,000 and $50,000, and a jail term of up to five years.
