PM Lee Hsien Loong congratulates China's Xi Jinping on election as General Secretary
Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has congratulated Mr Xi Jinping on his election as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the CPC's 18th National Congress.
Writing on his Facebook page, Mr Lee said he hosted Mr Xi in Singapore in 2010 when Singapore and China celebrated 20 years of diplomatic relations.
Mr Xi met many of Singapore's leaders and businessman, and unveiled a bust of Deng Xiaoping by the Singapore River.
Mr Lee added that he looks forward to working with Mr Xi, Mr Li Keqiang and the other newly elected members of the Politburo Standing Committee to strengthen China-Singapore ties further.
