SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is confident that Singapore will continue to offer a good quality living environment, and be one of the most liveable cities in the world.
Referring to the Land Use Plan released by the Ministry of National Development on Thursday, Mr Lee said the government is working hard building many more HDB flats, and improving bus and train services.
In a Facebook post, Mr Lee said significant improvements should be seen within three to five years.
By 2030, 700,000 new homes will be built.
These will be integrated with parks, childcare centres, healthcare facilities and recreational spots right at residents’ doorstops.
The MRT network will be doubled, bus services improved, and offices brought nearer to homes to reduce commuting.
Mr Lee added that Singapore will always be a City in a Garden.
