SINGAPORE: Singapore’s leaders were among the first to send their congratulations to the Singapore national football team for their win at the AFF Suzuki Cup.
Writing on his Facebook page, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong congratulated the Lions for winning the Cup for a record fourth time.
Mr Lee said: "Well done! We’re so proud of you!"
Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean also praised the newly—crowned football champions of South East Asia for their "tenacity, grit and a lil (sic) bit of luck."
In his Facebook post, Mr Teo also thanked the Lions’ coach Raddy Avramovic.
