Plans to help SMEs achieve productivity targets to be announced in the first half of 2013

The government will announce several recommendations in the first half of next year to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) achieve its long-term productivity target of two to three per cent over the next decade.
Minister of State for Trade and Industry Teo Ser Luck says the government will also work with the Singapore Business Federation and SMEs to customise some of the proposals being rolled out.
He was responding to a call by the federation last Friday for a more realistic productivity target - one that's in line with Singapore's ageing workforce and slower manpower growth.
