Philanthropist Toh honoured with new NTU medical school building
A three-storey building at Singapore's third medical school, the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, will be named after philanthropist Toh Kian Chui.
This is in recognition of a 20 million dollar gift from the Toh Kian Chui Foundation that will go towards a Professorship, student awards, scholarships and research funding.
The Toh Kian Chui Annex, located at Nanyang Technological University's Novena campus, was officially opened on Wednesday by Education Minister Mr Heng Swee Keat.
It houses a 188-seat lecture theatre, a 66-seat seminar room, an interim library and a rooftop terrace.
The school's first batch of 54 undergraduate students started classes this August.
The opening of the Toh Kian Chui Annex marks the completion of the first phase of the school's Novena campus development.
