SINGAPORE: The Dollah Kassim Charity Cup 2012, co—organised by Perkamus and Compass, held its grand final at ITE College East on Sunday.
The event, which is in its 11th year, saw the Perkamus—Compass team emerge champs — beating four other teams — Berita Harian, Dramatis, SGMuso and MediaCorp.
And for the first time in the Cup’s history, several MPs took part by forming the Parliament House Football Team and playing in a special match. They were up against a Celebrity Football Team made up of members of the other five teams taking part in the Cup.
And it was goals galore.
The Celebrity Team won 3—1 on penalties, after the match had ended 4—all in regulation time.
The MPs included Acting Minister for Manpower and Senior Minister of State for National Development, Mr Tan Chuan Jin; Minister of State for Ministry of Trade and Industry, Mr Teo Ser Luck; MP for Bishan—Toa Payoh GRC, Mr Zainudin Nordin; MP for Bishan—Toa Payoh GRC, Mr Hri Kumar; MP for Pasir Ris—Punggol GRC, Dr Janil Puthucheary; MP for Moulmein—Kallang GRC — Kallang, Mr Edwin Tong.
The event was graced by Singapore’s High Commissioner to Kenya and Rwanda, Mr Yatiman Yusof.
