PAP's Desmond Choo looking forward to a good, clean campaign

PAP candidate for Hougang, Desmond Choo, says he's looking forward to a good, clean campaign against his Worker's Party rival, Png Eng Huat. 

In response to Workers' Party Secretary-General Low Thia Khiang's quip on his slogan, "Always here for you" -- whether it was offered in Choo's capacity as the People's Association Grassroots Advisor, or the People's Action Party candidate -- Mr Choo said whatever he does on the ground is for the people. 

Speaking to reporters at a community football game in Hougang this evening, Mr Choo said he wishes his rival all the best. 

He said if he met Mr Png during the campaign trail, he'd be more than glad to have a cup of coffee with him and exchange stories about their campaigns. 

When asked about his preparation for the hustings, Mr Choo said his primary concern is that his crew will be well taken care of, and that they maintain a sustainable pace. 

As for whether he thinks he has an edge over Mr Png, Mr Choo said he has his own brand of enthusiasm, energy and passion for the people, which he will demonstrate to the people of Hougang.
