SINGAPORE: The People’s Action Party candidate contesting in the Punggol East by—election, Dr Koh Poh Koon, expressed no surprise that the Workers’ Party is fielding Lee Li Lian as its representative.

Speaking to Channel NewsAsia, he said she seems the logical choice for the opposition party.

However, he emphasised that his priority is to stay focused on the residents’ needs.

Dr Koh said: "Things have changed, in a sense it has been one year plus (from the General Elections) and I have walked the ground over the last few days and gotten to know the residents a bit better. I feel they have warmed to me so hopefully that will give me some edge in terms of being able to understand their problems."
