The People's Action Party has announced changes at the helm of four Government Parliamentary Committees or GPCs, as the 12th Parliament reconvenes tomorrow.

Ms Denise Phua, MP for Moulmein-Kallang GRC, will take over from Mr Seah Kian Peng as the Chairman of the GPC for Social and Family Development.

Potong Pasir MP, Sitoh Yih Pin, succeed Mr Lim Wee Kiak as the Chairman of the GPC for Defence and Foreign Affairs.

Ms Jessica Tan will make way for Mr Liang Eng Hwa, MP for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC, as the Chairman of the GPC for Finance and Trade & Industry.

And Dr Chia Shi-Lu, MP for Tanjong Pagar GRC, will take over as the Chairman of the GPC for Health from Dr Lam Pin Min.

GPCs are set up by the governing party to scrutinise ministries' legislation and programmes, and they are formed only by government party members.
