Pang Chor Mui tells court she "just gave an answer" to CPIB so that she could leave the place
The key prosecution witness in the corruption trial of ex-Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) chief Peter Lim has continued to give inconsistent accounts of her reasons for performing oral sex on Lim.
Under cross-examination by the defence lawyer, Madam Pang Chor Mui said there was no truth in her statement to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau or CPIB that she performed oral sex on Mr Lim as she didn't want to antagonise him.
Previously, she had told the court that she performed oral sex on Mr Lim in May 2010 because she liked him a lot.
She then went on to say that what she had said in her CPIB statement was true.
But today, on her third day in the stand, Mdm Pang explained that "she wanted to get out of the place (CPIB)" and so she "just gave an answer".
She also maintained that she told the truth in her CPIB statement and that she had not been lying.
52 year old Mr Lim is accused of obtaining sexual favour from Mdm Pang in exchange for advancing her former company's business interests.
