SINGAPORE: More than 200 Eurasian students were recognised for their academic achievements on Saturday.
From primary school students to their older peers in university, funds were disbursed to deserving students under the Eurasian Community Fund Education Awards.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office S Iswaran, who is also the Minister—in—charge of Eurasians, graced the event.
He also praised the awards for highlighting the importance of education for social mobility.
"Beyond the grades and prizes, our children must be imbued with the values... that personal success does not mean entitlement, but rather an obligation to give back and serve. As Singapore becomes a more diversified community in terms of the people that constitute our communities, we must ensure that our children have these deep values," said Mr Iswaran.
