Deputy Prime Minister and Home Affairs Minister Teo Chee Hean announced this at the Home Team National Day Observance Ceremony today.

"The Ministry of Home Affairs will also ensure that the Home Team provides rewarding and meaningful careers, with opportunities for professional and personal development, and competitive salaries which keep pace with the market and are commensurate with the skills and demands of our officers in the Home Team."

Uniformed Home Team officers from the Singapore Police Force, the SCDF, the Singapore Prison Service and Central Narcotics Bureau will receive between 10 and 12 per cent increases in their monthly pay.

And officers in the Home Team Specialist Scheme will get a 5 per cent pay rise.

The Police are also stepping up recruitment to meet a growing demand for more officers.

SPF will introduce sign-on bonuses of $10,000 and $30,000 for new officers who join them from this month at the ranks of corporal and sergeant.

Those who join SCDF, Singapore Prison Service and CNB at the rank of sergeant will also get a sign-on bonus of $10,000.
