SINGAPORE: A 24—year—old man has been charged with duping his victims into buying fake Universal Studios Singapore (USS) tickets was charged on Thursday in court.

Chandra Bhattacharjee, a Singaporean, faced one charge of cheating. He allegedly posted an advertisement online, selling USS tickets at S$60 each.

Using this ruse, he allegedly deceived a woman into transferring S$240 to his bank account.

He is also being investigated for involvement in at least 10 cases of online cheating, where he duped several victims into falsely purchasing electronic equipment and USS tickets.

He was arrested in Lorong 6 Toa Payoh, on July 10.

It is believed he cheated at least 10 victims of more than S$2,500 between December 2011 and May 2012.

If convicted of cheating, he could be jailed up to 10 years and fined.
