Office holders get ready for new political appointments

A number of political office holders assume new appointments today as part of the Singapore Cabinet reshuffle that was announced three months ago. 

Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Ministry, Mr Lawrence Wong, said in a Facebook post that staff in his new ministry are working hard, and hope to sort out transition issues in the coming weeks. 

At the Istana, Ms Indranee Rajah was sworn in by President Tony Tan Keng Yam as Senior Minister of State for Education and Law. 

Also happening today is the start of two new ministries. 

The Social and Family Development Ministry is headed by Mr Chan Chun Sing while the Communications and Information Ministry is headed by Dr Yaacob Ibrahim.
