NUS, IBM to set up NUS Centre for Business Analytics with EDB
The National University of Singapore (NUS) and IBM are setting up the NUS Centre for Business Analytics, in partnership with the Singapore Economic Development Board.
The Centre aims to help students and mid-career professionals gain the latest skills in business analytics and prepare for high value jobs in the future.
The Centre aims to address a growing demand from the industry for leaders who can make sense of large amounts of data and integrate that knowledge with their industry expertise to solve the business challenges of the future.
NUS said the Centre will offer a new Master of Science degree programme in Business Analytics (MSBA) from August this year.
The one-year MSBA programme will admit applicants who wish to gain an integrated set of skills and knowledge in business, technical and data analytics.
The MSBA participants will be trained to devise and refine solutions to complex business analytics problems.
Participans will be prepared for careers such as business intelligence analysts, research analysts, data scientists, quantitative data modellers, marketing analysts, and finance analysts.
NUS Business School and the School of Computing will develop the academic curriculum and provide teaching support.
IBM will appoint the Centre's Industry Director and provide industry expertise and access to analytics technology and solutions.
