Nurse leaders from Thailand at TTSH on stint to manage occupational hazards

Nurse leaders from Thailand at TTSH on stint to manage occupational hazards

A group of 14 nurse leaders from four institutions in Thailand are going through a training stint at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH).

Over 11 days, starting today, they'll learn how to assess, prevent and manage occupational hazards in a hospital setting.

The stint also aims to help them better understand safety innovations in nursing.

The nurses will share the knowledge and experiences acquired with fellow nurses when they return to Thailand.

The training programme was initiated by Thailand's Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and is supported by Temasek Foundation, which gave a grant of $80,000.

"Temasek Foundation recognises that nurses are at the forefront of patient care and face a multitude of challenges in performing their duties towards patient recovery. Thus, this training will equip the nurse leaders with the knowledge to implement and improve current practices and processes in their nursing institutions, and they will continue to share these positive changes with other nursing organisations in Thailand," said Mr Benedict Cheong, Chief Executive Officer of Temasek Foundation.
