NTUC FairPrice pledges commitment to Earth Hour 2014
NTUC FairPrice is renewing its support for the World Wide Fund for Nature's Earth Hour with a pledge of S$15,000 this year.
It's the sixth year that the retail chain of the labour movement is pledging support for Earth Hour, which will be observed this Saturday.
The retailer will also switch off non-essential lights such as signage light boxes at its supermarkets and hypermarkets on from 8.30pm that evening till the next morning.
And it's urging fans of its Facebook fan pages to support Earth Hour 2014 with acts such as switching to LED lights, turning up air conditioning by a degree, and taking shorter showers.
