NTUC FAirPrice issues statement on halal pork
NTUC FairPrice says an image of its product, Pasar Fresh Pork, with a Halal Sticker being circulated, is a mischievous hoax that is both insensitive and done in poor taste.
This after an old image of a tampered packaging of FairPrice fresh pork carrying a halal certification mark resurfaced again on Facebook.
The image started circulating on the Internet in 2007 via an email hoax.
The supermarket chain had lodged a report with the Police then.
It would like to once again alert the public on the falsity of this image.
It assures the public that the original packaging of Pasar Fresh Pork does not carry the halal sticker from the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS).
