NTU breaks into list of top 50 universities
Singapore's Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has for the first time broken into the list of the top 50 universities in the world.
It now ranks 47, up eleven places this year.
NTU President Professor Bertil Andersson says,
its meteoric rise comes from its ability to attract top students from local Polytechnics and Junior Colleges.
Singapore now has two universities in the internationally recognised QS World University Rankings.
The National University of Singapore placed 25th, up three spots from the previous year.
NUS President, Professor Tan Chorh Chuan said the university's ranking proves that its bold enhancements to education and research are creating a positive impact.
