NTU appoints new NIE director
Nanyang Technological University, NTU, has appointed Professor Tan Oon Seng as the new director of the National Institute of Education.
Professor Tan will take over from Professor Lee Sing Kong, who has held the position for more than 7 years.
Professor Tan started his career as a teacher in 1982 and rose through the ranks to become a Vice-Principal in 1991.
He joined Temasek Polytechnic as a lecturer in 1992 and served in several positions in teaching as well as in administration.
At NIE, Professor Tan headed the Psychological Studies Academic Group for five years and held the position of Dean for Teacher Education since September 2008.
He will assume the new role in July.
