NS45 exhibition at final stop of roadshow

SINGAPORE: Toa Payoh residents literally had the army in their backyard on Saturday.

The NS45 exhibition made its way to the heartlands to mark the 45th year of National Service.

Some of the audiences had the run of some of the Singapore Armed Forces’ key assets including a Terrex Infantry Carrier Vehicle and Light Strike Vehicle.

The exhibition is on the final stop of its heartland roadshow, after wowing residents in Tampines and Jurong East earlier this month.

National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan was also spotted at the event.

Posting in his blog later, Mr Khaw said army equipment, rations and uniforms may have changed over the years but the sense of brotherhood amongst men who have served together remains the same.
