NS man dies in hospital after being hit by falling tree outside Ama Keng Training Area

Twenty-three-year old Lance-Corporal Tan Tai Seng, an operationally-ready National Serviceman, died in hospital this afternoon after he was hit by a falling tree.

He was undergoing his In-Camp Training at the time of the incident and was standing in front of his military vehicle outside the Ama Keng Training Area at Lim Chu Kang.

Despite efforts to resuscitate him, Lance-Corporal Tan succumbed to his injuries an hour later at the National University Hospital.

The Ministry of Defence and the Singapore Armed Forces say they're assisting the family and investigating the incident.

Police are also conducting a separate investigation.
