NODX up 6% in December
Singapore's non oil domestic exports, or NODX, rose faster than expected last month as non-electronic shipments grew.
Data by IE Singapore showed that exports rebounded 6 percent on-year in December.
This, compared with the 8.9 percent contraction in the previous month.
On a month-on-month basis, nodx expanded by 9.2 percent.
Non-electronic exports grew 10.6 percent on-year led by petrochemicals, printed matter and structures of ships & boats.
But electronic shipments dropped 3.1 percent, dragged down by parts of PCs, disk drives and telecommunications equipment.
Exports to all of the top 10 markets rose, except except the European Union, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Hong Kong.
The top three contributors to the rise were China, the US and Taiwan.
