Chai Chee residents now have one more option when travelling to the Bedok MRT and bus interchange, with the introduction of the new peak period short service 222P.
It runs from Bedok MRT station, travelling along New Upper Changi Road, Chai Chee Road, Chai Chee Street and Chai Chee Drive, before heading back to Bedok MRT station.
The service is operated by private bus operator ComfortDelGro, and plies portions of the route currently run by feeder bus service 222.
It is designed to alleviate crowding, reduce waiting times and improve bus reliability during peak hours.
Acting Manpower Minister Tan Chuan-Jin met commuters this morning to tell them about the new service.
Mr Tan, who is also the MP for Marine Parade GRC, said the additional services will plug some gaps in the existing service 222 in terms of the frequency of arrivals.
Service 222P is part of five new short bus services that have been launched progressively.
These short bus services are a component of the $1.1 billion Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP) launched in September 2012.
