SINGAPORE: The South West Community Development Council has launched a new S$360,000 grant to boost the work of grassroots organisations in all the 18 constituencies in the district.
Called the South West Cares Outreach Grant, it is meant to help the grassroots bodies build up their capabilities for effective outreach, and develop resident-centric and holistic help for the lower-income groups.
The grant is part of the S$2.5 million WeCare @ South West effort to provide resident-centric and holistic help programmes.
The wider initiative covers various assistance schemes, grants and programmes for the next three years and it covers transport subsidies, meals and stationery bursaries, utility vouchers and befriending programmes. - CNA/ec
