SINGAPORE: Science Centre Singapore has been given S$3.5 million in sponsorships for the development of Kids STOP, an edutainment centre for children aged between 18 months and eight years.
Kids STOP, which is slated to open on 5 June 2014, aims to spark young children's interest in science through purposeful play.
The Science Centre's latest addition will be housed in the Omni Theatre building.
The sponsors for Kids STOP are the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), LEGO Education and Tote Board.
The funds will be used to develop activities and programmes for various Kids STOP zones like the Flight and Space Zone, Built Environment Zone and Robo Robo Club.
The sponsorship from CAAS, BCA and LEGO Education will finance different zones in Kids STOP, while Tote Board's sponsorship will be for Kids STOP and its related programmes in general. - CNA/gn
