New private home sales rose 55 per cent in April, compared to March.
But fell 46 per cent compared to a year earlier.
Data released by the Urban Redevelopment Authority shows 745 units of new private homes, excluding executive condominiums or ECs, were sold last month.
Properties in the suburbs remained popular with The Sorrento at West Coast, selling 95 per cent of the 131 units launched.
Lakeville at Jurong was also in hot demand, selling nearly 92 per cent of the 230 units launched.
Meanwhile, the Waterwoods EC at Punggol continued its streak from last month, where it was the top selling EC with 20 units sold.
Waterwoods sold 18 units in April.
On a regional basis, 487 suburban homes were sold in the month, compared to 237 units in the city fringe and 21 units in the city.
