SINGAPORE: Singapore’s newest medical school will focus on a team—based approach plus mobile e—learning.

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine will have 54 students in August. And, students in the five—year undergraduate medical degree programme will each get an iPad for access to materials including pre—recorded lectures and quizzes.

They will also get clinical exposure in their first year, by monitoring patients at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and other polyclinics.

The school’s Dean of Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Professor Dermot Kelleher hopes to groom clinical scientists, as they play an important role in developing an innovative healthcare culture.
