SINGAPORE: The new Adult Monthly Travel Card (AMTC), which will cap commuters' monthly expenditures on bus and train fares at $120, goes on sale from Thursday.
Priced at $120, the card allows unlimited rides on bus services and trains for a month.
But the concession does not apply to the Express bus services, Fast Forward, Nite Owl, Night Rider, CityShopper, Chinatown Direct, Stadium Direct and any other premium services.
The new AMTC concession scheme is open for application by all Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents.
Those interested can apply online for the AMTC through TransitLink's website or TransitLink's Mobile Services App which is available on App Store on iTunes and Google Play Store.
Applicants will need to make a credit or debit card payment of $128, comprising the AMTC ($120), a one-time non-refundable card cost ($5) and personalisation fee ($3).
Applicants using either of these application modes will receive their card within three weeks upon submission.
Commuters can also make hardcopy applications for an AMTC at any of TransitLink's 42 Ticket Offices and six Concession Card Replacement Offices located islandwide.
Those who apply by 16 March will receive their card before 6 April 2014, which is when the AMTP scheme starts. - CNA/de
