NEL services to fully resume at 4:30pm
SINGAPORE: Services on the North East Line (NEL) are slated to resume fully at 4:30pm.
SBS Transit said the line experienced a power fault at about 9:50am. And the problem was narrowed to a stretch in the tunnel between Harbourfront and Outram Park stations.
Bus bridging services have been activated, while efforts are underway to repair the fault.
Senior vice—president of corporate communications at SBS Transit, Tammy Tan, said crowd control remains manageable. "We currently have about 30 engineers on the ground working on repairs, and we hope to have full service resumption by 4:30pm today before the start of evening peak. We would like to apologise to all commuters affected by this disruption."
